This is the candy project.

November 3, 2008

I loved this project, although some may question about my choice of colors. We had to use any kind of candy but stick to one kind(I used Starburst) ? except chocolate and create a 2D composition photographs. I had fun with this project but one thing I realized is that about everyone in the class had a real nice camera and I was using one of those small digital cameras and that really made a HUGE difference in the photographs, in my opinion, because it took away the colors, for the most part. If I had to do this project again, I would change composition and go to a place with better lightning so the colors would be emphasized more. But again, I loved this project.

We were suppose to walk around in the art building and draw neat and creative compositions. I prefer drawing in the more horizontal compositions than the vertical ones.

Value Project #1 & #2

October 15, 2008

I messed up the first time because I didn’t understand it fully.. but I re-did it. The 2nd time it’s about my puppy Mickey who likes to get on its back whenever people come so it can scratch its tummy. So I decided over the weekend that I would go 6pm-7pm at my mom’s store (on w. market street) and bring Mickey (he barely gets to go outside anyways) and see how many times he would go on his back for the customers.

Shapes

October 15, 2008

It was difficult to find certain and various shapes for each categories.. I didn’t really work on this too much. Had I known we were going to do a bigger project with these shapes, I would of worked harder with finding creative shapes.

The shapes.. before things got messy :[

When Lee was going over this project, I thought it was going to be pretty easy. But as always.. I was wrong :] We had to put certain shapes that belonged to certain categories onto a drawing paper, cut them carefully, paint it with ink, and then tape it back which gives it a very clean look. Then we applied a set of rules onto these shapes, using gesso, ink, and graphite. Things got a bit messy (it happens) so I re-did a few of them.. It was very time consuming and my shapes weren’t all that creative as others. But this project was very interesting and when we put all our shapes together as a class on the floor, the outcome was pretty cool.

Twig Ink

October 15, 2008

If anything, the outcome of this project was pretty amazing. We started off with a blank drawing paper, a drop of ink in water, and then we started painting. We increased the amount of ink by one drop as we drew different, random objects on top of each other.

Eve Project

October 15, 2008

I titled this as “Construction”. At first I didn’t understand Eve’s artworks but I loved this project because looking through Eve’s artworks in the museum and then trying to make a knock-out of it, I found it mysterious and hard to figure out, respectively.

Tate Street

October 14, 2008

This was probably one of my favorite projects we did in class. We had to stay in Tate Street Coffee place for one hour (it went by a little too fast) and just draw lines. It was nice, the atmosphere of the place was comfy and my cup of coffee was sweet.

27 Dresses

October 14, 2008

Movie Extra Project. From one of my favorite movies ever, I chose the lady who alternated Tess and Jane’s mother’s wedding dress. She expresses the same feelings as Tess and contrast Jane’s.

All I did today was drive, spend $$$, talk and .. eat.
But that’s nothing new.
